Unlock more front end grip and steering feel for your Porsche with the Suspension Secrets Camber Caster Plate Top Mounts for the Porsche 911 (991) GT3/RS/GT2 RS.
The 991-generation GT cars feature adjustable camber as standard, but the range of adjustment is inadequate for making best use of grippy tyres, such as the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 and Cup 2R compounds. This inefficient use of the tyres reduces the overall level of grip available.
It is possible to increase the front camber by using camber shims in the front suspension control arms. This creates an issue as fitting shims pulls the front wheels forward in the wheel arch, resulting in the leading edge of the tyres colliding with the wheel arch liners when steering lock is approved.
To solve this, we have designed and manufactured the Secrets Camber Caster Plate Top Mounts for the Porsche 911 (991) GT3/RS/GT2RS. Our top mounts have a wider range of camber adjustment thanks to the increased offset position for mounting the front dampers to the chassis. This new position also increases front positive caster.
The wider range of camber adjustment allows for higher negative camber levels to be achieved at the front axle. The result is increased front axle grip and greatly reduced understeer, particularly in medium and long corners.
The additional degrees of positive caster also massively improves the driving experience by creating more steering feel, increased high-speed stability and accuracy and even more cornering grip due to the increased dynamic camber gain.
The key benefits of the Suspension Secrets Camber/Caster Top Mounts for the Porsche 911 (991) GT3/RS/GT2RS are:
Camber
Camber angle is the angle between the plane of a wheel and the vertical. It is described as positive when the top of the wheel leans outward and negative when the top of the wheel leans inward. Camber angle alters the handling characteristics of a suspension system.
Caster
Caster is the measure of how far forward or behind the steering axis is to the vertical axis, viewed from the side. This is measured by drawing a line between the top and bottom pivot points of the front upright. The angle between the drawn line and vertical is the caster angle
