When lowering your MQB platform car such as a VW Golf GTI/R Mk7 / Mk7.5 and Mk8 / Mk8.5, Audi S3/RS3 8V/8Y and Audi TTS/TTRS MK3, the front roll centre is moved away from its positioned in a negative direction. This can lead to the car feeling much softer through the corners on the front axle, reducing cornering performance and upsetting setting the front to rear balance of the car.

To resolve this we have designed and developed the Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber and Roll Centre Front Lower Ball Joints. Once installed, these allow you to adjust the roll centre position by moving the 2mm shims above or below the bearings to alter the angle of the front lower control arm and correct the roll centres on the car.

Another issue with the MQB chassis is the lack of front camber adjustment as standard, there is none. Our adjustable ball joints have an adjustable mounting position allowing for additional negative camber to be dialled into the chassis from the lower ball joint.

With the Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber and Roll Centre Front Lower Ball Joints fitted to your MQB Chassis you will benefit from:

  • Improved front axle cornering grip
  • Reduced understeer
  • Additional negative camber at the front axle
  • Corrected front axle roll centres
  • Improved front to rear balance
  • increased driver confidence

Suspension Secrets' products are designed and manufactured in house in the UK. Our products are made from billet aircraft-grade 6082 T6 aluminium and corrosion-resistant stainless steel. We use motorsport-spec Rodoball Bearings for maximum performance and longevity.

Geometry Explained

Camber
Camber angle is the angle between the plane of a wheel and the vertical. It is described as positive when the top of the wheel leans outward and negative when the top of the wheel leans inward. Camber angle alters the handling characteristics of a suspension system.
